Muslims Connect, in collaboration with Forgotten Women, led a dedicated group of women on a journey to Al-Aqsa, where they provided vital food parcels to families in Jerusalem and refugee camps. Their efforts extended to distributing iftar meals to local residents near Masjid Al-Aqsa. Remarkably, the group's collective fundraising surpassed £170,000, a testament to their exceptional generosity and commitment.

"Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing."
Surah Al-Isra, 17:1
Al-Aqsa is the site from which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ascended to the heavens during the Night Journey. This event, mentioned in the Quran (Surah Al-Isra, 17:1), solidifies Al-Aqsa's sacred status.
This event alone, places Al-Aqsa as a location of immense importance.
For a period, Al-Aqsa was the first Qibla (direction of prayer) for Muslims before the Kaaba in Mecca. This historical fact further emphasizes its significance.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged visiting Al-Aqsa, stating that prayers performed there hold great rewards. Hadith's indicate that prayers performed in Al-Aqsa have a multiplied reward.
It is mentioned in Hadith that, along with the Masjidal Haram in Mecca, and the Prophets Mosque in Medina, that Masjid Al-Aqsa is one of the three mosques that Muslims should travel to.
Al-Aqsa and its surrounding area are considered holy by Muslims, as it is associated with many Prophets, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all).
The mosque has undergone various stages of construction and renovation throughout history, reflecting the different Islamic caliphates that ruled the region.
The location has been a place of worship for other Abrahamic faiths, which also adds to the historical significance of the location.
The location of Al-Aqsa has been a focal point of many historical events that are important to Islam heritage.
Masjid al Aqsa is in our hearts. Our founder Shreen, has taken many groups to Masjid Al Aqsa. She has interviewed Sheikh Yusuf Sneina, the Imam of Masjid Al Aqsa. She has hosted many events, workshops, radio shows and tv shows about Masjid Al Aqsa. She has helped write Ya Aqsa and is the creative producer. Muslims Connect is honoured to have released our very own nasheed Ya Aqsa. This is a message of solidarity and love to the people who protect Masjid Al Aqsa and the blessed lands.
